June 24th, 2009, 2:34 pm by Jayson Peters

Heard MuseumThe world-famous Heard Museum is offering free admission on Saturdays through Aug. 1.

The museum, located at 2301 N. Central Ave. in Phoenix, is home to both ancient artifacts and contemporary art from Native American cultures. There are hands-on activities as well as museum exhibits, and each child will receive free ice-cream treats thanks to Shamrock Farms and a take-home souvenir bag filled with activity sheets, crayons, stickers and more.

My family has been making the most of the first one: Mesa’s Arizona Museum of Natural History, Arizona Museum for Youth and Mesa Contemporary Arts offer free admission the first Sunday of every month.
