This Saturday, June 27, Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa will be shown for free as part of Free Family Movie Nights at the Mesa Amphitheatre.
Gates open at 6 p.m. and the movie will start at 8 p.m. A large inflatable screen will be on the stage, allowing great views and plenty of seating on the grass and terraces. There will be free bounce houses for the kids, and concession stands will be open for business.
The public is invited to bring a blanket or lawn chairs. No alcohol is allowed.
The Mesa Amphitheatre is located at 263 N. Center St., on the southeast corner of University Drive and Center Street. For more information visit www.mesaamp.com, or call Dyan Dwyer Seaburg at (480) 644-2171.
Free Family Movie Night is being presented by the City of Mesa Parks, Recreation and Commercial Facilities Department. “We wanted to do something for the community that would be fun and inexpensive,” assistant director J.D. Dockstader said in a statement. “The nights in Arizona are wonderful, and we have a great venue for this type of event.”
Other Free Family Movie Nights are being planned throughout the summer.
