Children & BackgroundsThe Web site Mr. Free Stuff has compiled a list of restaurants where children eat free (usually with an adult’s purchase).

Many Valley eateries such as Applebee’s, Golden Corral, TGI Friday’s, Chick-Fil-A and Denny’s are represented.

The article informs readers about eat-for-free specials that are available on any given day of the week. Sunday (33), Monday (36) and Tuesday (56) are the best days to get freebies from restaurants. On Friday, only 14 eateries on the list give free offers.

Donate a kids’ book for a free ice cream cone

A Chandler Chick-fil-A restaurant will give out coupons good for a free “Icedream” dairy cone dessert beginning Monday, Aug. 24.menu_ice_cream_cone

To get a coupon, all you have to do is drop off a new or gently used children’s book during normal restaurant hours Aug. 24-Aug. 31.

In addition to getting a free dessert, donors to the book drive will be invited to return to the store 5 p.m. Aug. 31 to choose a “new” book from the titles collected in the previous week. You must show your Icedream coupon to verify that you donated a book. Children and/or their parents will be permitted to choose a new book on a first-come, first-served basis.

That night, the store will also lead a bookmark-making activity for kids.

According to a press release, come into any Chick-fil-A® restaurant dressed as a cow on Friday and receive a free meal.

Chick-fil-A wants you to show your appreciation for the cows while eating more chicken.

If you go, especially if you wear a cow costume, tell us about it. We want to see photos!!

Chick-fil-A plans Customer Appreciation Week

The Tribune received the following information about a deal next week at Mesa Riverview’s Chick-fil-A restaurant:

Chick-fil-A Loves Mesa! Mesa Riverview Restaurant Hosts Customer Appreciation Week Extravaganza Celebration July 13 - 18 to include family activities and free food giveaways

WHAT:
To thank its customers in the Mesa community for their loyalty over the years, the Chick-fil-A® restaurant at Mesa Riverview, located at 905 North Dobson Road, will host a Customer Appreciation Week from July 13 - 18. The week will include a variety of activities for the whole family!

Along with product sampling, giveaways, contests for Chick-fil-A prizes and opportunities to meet the Chick-fil-A “Eat Mor Chikin®” Cow throughout the week, the community is invited to take part in the following:
• Tuesday, July 14, 5 - 8 p.m.: Extreme Dinner Makeover - Join Chick-fil-A to enjoy a fine dining experience, including table-side service, a full service wait staff, and a plated dinner.

• Thursday, July 16, 5 - 8 p.m.: Hollywood Night: Customers fully dressed as their favorite movie character will be rewarded with a free Chick-fil-A Meal. Guests that partially dress as their favorite character will receive a complimentary entrée. The restaurant will be decorated for the Hollywood theme.

• Saturday, July 18, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.: Community Pool Party - Chick-fil-A will be at the Carson/Westwood Aquatic Center offering a free Chick-fil-A® Chicken Sandwich to attendees (while supplies last). The community will also have an opportunity to meet the “Eat Mor Chikin” Cow, participate in activities, and receive giveaways. Pool admission is $1.75 for children and $3.50 for adults.

“We are thrilled to host this special series of events for our customers,” said Brandon Barrett, franchise Operator of the restaurant. “They are the reason for our success and we want them to know how much we appreciate their business, so we are excited to take a week to celebrate!”

Breakfast is on Chick-fil-A this week

The Tribune’s Jess Harter reports that Chick-fil-A restaurants across the Valley are celebrating breakfast this week by giving away a free menu item each morning until 10:30. On Thursday you can get a free chicken biscuit and on Friday you can get a free order of three Chick-n-Minis.
